Basarnas Closes Search for Victims of Al Khoziny Boarding School Collapse

Surabaya, CNN Indonesia — The National Search and Relief Agency (Basarnas) officially closed the search and assistance operation for victims of the collapse of the boarding school building (Ponpes) Al Khoziny in Buduran, Sidoarjo, on the 9th day, Tuesday (October 7).

This operation concluded with a joint personnel review and awards ceremony led by the Head of Basarnas, TNI Associate Marshal Mohammad Syafii, recognizing all elements of the Search and Rescue (SAR) team involved. the ceremony took place in the hall of the old pesantren building.

At the collapsed building site, no meaningful debris remained. Scattered concrete fragments and remnants of iron construction where visible, with two excavators and one crane parked nearby.
