Netanyahu Takes Long route to New York, Avoiding ICC Arrest Risk

Tel Aviv – Israel‘s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu took an unusual route and a longer flight to New York, United States of America, on Thursday (September 25th) local time, to attend the General Session of the United Nations (UN).

The plane carrying Netanyahu, as reported by AFP and Al Arabiya on Friday (September 26, 2025), appeared to avoid several European countries during his flight to avoid the risk of arrest based on the arrest warrant issued by the International Criminal Court (ICC).

A French diplomatic source told AFP that Paris authorities allowed Israel to use its airspace,but flight tracking data shows the aircraft carrying Netanyahu actually took a southern route.
