Russia Foils Ukraine-UK Plot to steal Fighter Jet

Moscow – The Federal Security Service of Russia (FSB) revealed that it had thwarted a theft plan for a MiG-31 fighter jet masterminded by spies from Ukraine and the united Kingdom. Spies from both countries attempted to persuade Russian pilots to steal fighter jets equipped with Kinzhal hypersonic missiles.

A reward of US$ 3 million (Rp. 50 billion) was offered by Ukrainian and British spies to the Russian pilot who managed to steal the fighter jet.

The FSB, in its statement as quoted by the news agency RIA and reported by reuters on Tuesday, November 11, 2025, said the hijacked fighter jet would be flown to a NATO air base in the city of Constanta, Romania, where it would likely be shot down by an air defense system.
