Despite recent price increases, not all Xbox Game Pass subscribers are considering cancellation. David Jaffe, creator of the *God of War* franchise, argues the service actually *saves* him money. However, for many gamers, the rising costs of Xbox consoles and subscriptions have eroded brand loyalty.

Public opinion has largely turned against Microsoft following the declaration of a price increase for Xbox Game Pass. Nevertheless, the subscription service retains some high-profile supporters. David Jaffe, best known as the creator of *God of War*, recently explained why he plans to continue his Game Pass Ultimate subscription.

In a YouTube video, Jaffe argues that even the most expensive tier, at €26.99 per month, is economically sensible for his gaming habits. He highlights the costs of the Xbox games in his library and potential future purchases, concluding that the annual cost of €324 is substantially less than what he would spend buying games individually.

Jaffe, who also played a key role in the development of *Twisted Metal*, doesn’t see critically important value in owning Xbox games outright. Game preservation advocates note that subscribers don’t truly *own* the digital titles on Game Pass, as Microsoft can choose to remove them from the service at any time.
