Woman in Malang Undergoes Surgery After Over-Cleaning ears

jakarta – A woman in Malang, named Ajeng Dian Anggi Pertiwi (34), recently went viral on social media after sharing her experience of needing surgery due too a habit of frequently cleaning her ears with cotton buds. Doctors discovered a fungal infection and cholesteatoma – an abnormal growth of skin tissue in the middle ear – wich caused damage to her ear bones and resulted in hearing loss.

Anggi told AFP that the issue began four years ago with her regular ear-cleaning routine. She started experiencing pain after each cleaning session.

the pain typically lasted for 2-3 days before subsiding. however, on one occasion, the pain persisted for several weeks.
