Flags Flown at Half-Staff in US Following Death of Pro-Trump Influencer

American influencer Charlie Kirk was killed after being shot while speaking at utah Valley University.US President Donald Trump ordered flags to be flown at half-staff at the White House to honor the pro-Trump influencer.
As reported by detikcom on Thursday (9/11/2025), Kirk has over 5 million followers on social media platform X, 7.5 million followers on Instagram, and is credited with rallying support for Trump among young Americans.
The shooting incident involving Kirk occurred on Wednesday (9/10) afternoon local time. Video footage shows Kirk at an event under a large tent.
Suddenly, shots rang out and Kirk appeared to fall. People screamed and ran as they witnessed the incident. Video footage shows Kirk struck by at least one bullet during his speech. He was instantly taken to the nearest hospital.
utah Valley University confirmed a shooting on campus around 12:10 PM local time.
“A shot was fired from a nearby building and a suspect was arrested,” a university spokesperson told Reuters,before stating the attacker was still at large. However, FBI Director Kash Patel announced Wednesday night local time that the suspect was “now in custody.”
