President Donald Trump ordered flags in the U.S. be flown at half staff through Sunday, Aug. 31, in respect for those killed in the shooting at a Minnesota church.

Trump issued the proclamation as a “mark of respect for the victims of the senseless acts of violence perpetrated” on Aug. 27 shortly after the deadly attack that killed two children and injured 17 others who were praying at  Annunciation Catholic Church in Minneapolis.

The gunman opened fire through the church’s stain-glass windows as hundreds were inside praying during a mass in celebration of the beginning of the school year at Annunciation Catholic School, which is located steps away from the church.

Flags at public buildings, stations, and grounds will remain at half-staff until sunset on Aug. 31, according too the proclamation.
