Trump Plans to Rebrand Pentagon as Department of War

Jakarta – US President Donald Trump is planning to change the name of the Department of Defence,commonly known as the Pentagon. He intends to rename it the Department of War.

As reported by the Politico news agency on Tuesday, August 26, 2025, Trump indicated that his management will likely change the department’s name in the coming days. He suggested officials might revert to a more assertive name, reminiscent of the past.

Trump stated this change could happen within about a week, though he hasn’t specified an exact timeframe.
