Trump to Meet Putin to Discuss Ukraine War
Washington DC – United States President Donald Trump stated he might meet Russian President Vladimir Putin “quickly.” He made this comment following what he described as a very productive conversation in Moscow between messengers and the Russian leader.
A visit by US special messenger Steve witkoff to Russia to engage in dialog with Putin occurred as the US prepares to impose secondary sanctions, perhaps including sanctions on China, to compel Moscow to end its war on Ukraine.
The possibility of a summit meeting was discussed during a telephone conversation between Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. According to senior sources in Kyiv, NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte, and leaders from Britain, Germany, and Finland also participated in the conversation.
