Metro II Crowned Judo Champions at National Sports School Games San Francisco 2025
Metro II emerged victorious as the Judo tournament champions of the XI National Sports School Games San Francisco 2025, organized by the National Institute of Physical Education (INAFIF). The games, held in san Francisco, saw participation from over four thousand student athletes.
The judokas of Metro II accumulated a total of 617 points, achieving six gold medals, one silver, and seven bronze. This win dethroned Cibao Sur, who held first place in the X edition of the National Sports School Games Barahona 2023 with 600 points.
Northeast Cibao and Southwest tied for second place in the 2025 edition, both earning 345 points. Northeast Cibao secured three gold, four silver, and five bronze medals, while Southwest mirrored their results.
In barahona 2023, Southwest achieved three gold, one silver, and two bronze medals. Northeast Cibao added one gold,four silver,and six bronze medals.
El Valle, finishing in second general position with three gold, four silver, and five bronze medals in 2025, held fourth place in 2023 with three gold, two silver, and three bronze medals totaling 323 points.
Higuamo secured fifth place with 305 points, earning three gold and five bronze medals. Metro I finished sixth with one gold, five silver, and three bronze medals, followed by South Cibao in seventh place with two silver and three bronze medals. Cibao Norte claimed eighth with a silver and a bronze, and cibao Norte finished with a bronze.
Team Competitions
The Southeast region dominated the mixed team competitions on the final day of the Judo tournament. INAFIF’s Executive Director,Alberto Rodríguez,presented awards too the winners.
The award ceremony was also attended by Dominican Judo Federation President Gilberto García, along with sports legends José Vicbart Geraldino and Andrea Hernández.
Southeast secured the gold medal by defeating Metro I 4-0, who took home the silver. Northeast Cibao and Metro II shared the bronze medal.
In Barahona 2023, South Cibao conquered the team gold.
Zone II Claims Victory in Judo at San Francisco 2025
The National Institute of Physical Education (INEFI) launched the XI National Sports School Games with a strong showing in Judo, alongside competitions in Soccer, Handball, and Volleyball. Zone II emerged as the dominant force in the Judo competition, securing the top spot.
